Australian-raised Christian Vieri has been released by Serie A side Atalanta.
Vieri has been a starring player for some of the world's biggest sides including Inter Milan, AC Milan and Monaco but has only made a handful of appearances for the Bergamo team after struggling with injury.
Once the first-choice Italy striker, Vieri's persistent knee problems has seen his form slip over recent years. More recently, he has been embroiled in a spying scandal with his former club Inter.
Vieri has not yet stated whether he intends to continue playing, but interest from clubs in the USA will almost certainly arise.
