Spain striker David Villa admits he is flattered by reports linking him with Real Madrid but insists his thoughts are focused on Valencia.
Villa, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, is one of Europe's most highly-rated hitmen and there have been plenty of rumours regarding a possible transfer away from the Mestalla over the last year.
The latest club to be talked about regarding a possible switch are Real Madrid, and although the Spanish champions officially denied last week they had an interest in the 25-year-old, Villa has taken a positive view on the speculation.
"My thoughts are on winning titles with Valencia. Being honest, you like to hear these things and they boost your morale, especially now I am injured," he said on Tuesday.
"What you need to do is remain positive, and this information is positive as it shows I must be doing something well.
"I will use this to help my morale more than thinking about whether it is true or not," added Villa, who also believes the speculation reflects well on Valencia.
"When other more wealthy clubs in Europe show interest in your players, not only me, you have to feel proud because it shows that you have great players," he said.
