TOP STORY: Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka has decided on which visa player he will leave out of his ACL squad and will relay the bad news to the unlucky player later today.

Lavicka wasn’t specifying which player as the club finalises its juggling of the ''3+1'' quota for their ACL campaign which kicks off next week against K-League outfit Suwon at the SFS.
The quota allows for three foreign players and one Asian player to be included in the squad and Lavicka said it was a difficult decision after having already told out-of-contract Korean defender Sung Hwan Byun he was not needed.
His Asian spot was taken by Japanese midfielder Hiro Moriyasu which leaves Brazilian Bruno Cazarine, Finn Juho Makela, Northern Ireland's Terry McFlynn and Swiss Stephan Keller.
McFlynn’s status as a visa player in the ACL – he’s not considered a foreigner in the A-League – has made the choice even tougher but the club skipper will be retained we understand.
“It’s a cruel situation. Byun did great two seasons for us. He’s professional. Nice boy. But his contract is not re-signed for next season. He’s upset of course but he understands football," said Lavicka this morning.
“But now we have to cut one more visa player. We have six players with visas in this moment in the squad.
“So we have to cut a bit. It is cruel for the players but that’s football. I hope players who are not selected be professional and understand.”
Given the club signed Makela ahead of the ACL he would appear safe. As would Cazarine who has been in stellar form in the A-League. Based on that it would appear that Keller might be the one to miss out - especially as the club have signed Australian defender Andrew Durante for the ACL.
Meanwhile the Sky Blues are desperately trying to sign Jamie Coyne from Perth Glory before the ACL window closes.
“I truly believe he will join us as soon as possible,” said Lavicka. However the club confirmed this evening that Coyne would not be part of ythe club's ACL squad.
Sydney also welcomed new recruit David Williams to training this morning. He’s expected to play part of tomorrow night’s friendly with Sydney United and Lavicka expects him to fill the boots of the recently departed Alex Brosque.
“David Williams is a similar quality player,” the Czech mentor added.
Phoenix captain Durante arrives in Sydney later today and he too is tipped to play in the game at Edensor Park as Sydney strengthens ahead of their AFC campaign.
The club confirmed they’d spoken to Jade North about a similar move but said the former Jet preferred to try his luck overseas.
In other news, Lavicka confirmed his assistant Michael Zach would remain at the club till the end of the ACL despite recent reports he would leave the club prior to the group stage.
Youth team coaches Steve Corica and Ian Crook also join Lavicka on the bench for the ACL campaign.
“I hope the big crowd will come to support us. Regarding Suwon it’s pretty difficult to pick up the information about them. They changed the squad but we are setting up the information about them," Lavicka added.
And Sydney will soon reveal their new ACL kit although insiders say it won’t be a radical departure from their current style.
