THE Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed WADA's appeal to increase the ban handed out to Italian footballer Nicolo Cherubin.
Cherubin was banned for one month by the Italian National Olympic Committee and the Italian Football Association for missing a drugs test after playing for Reggina against Livorno in Serie A on October 31, 2007.
WADA requested the sanction be extended to between one and two years but CAS ruled the month-long punishment was sufficient.
Cherubin, 22, who now plays for Serie B side Cittadella, has already served the original ban.
