Wesolowski joined the Foxes from Northern Spirit in 2002 - and has progressed through the club's academy system to first team level.
After suffering the set-back of a broken leg, the tough-tackling midfielder made his comeback against Plymouth in January 2006 - and went on the make a number of impressive appearances before bad luck struck again as he sustained another broken leg away at Brighton less than a month later.
Wesolowski came back fighting fit in the 2006-07 campaign, and has now made a total of 29 appearances for the Foxes.
New Leicester City boss Martin Allen is delighted that Wesolowski has agreed the extension.
He told City’s official website: “I am chuffed to bits that James has signed a contract extension.
“He has energy and he has enthusiasm. I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him to get in to the full Australian squad.”
Wesolowski has previously been called up to train with the Australian squad, but has yet to make a senior appearance.
