It was a do or die clash between the Wanderers and Brisbane on Saturday.
A win for Roar would book their finals spot. As for Josep Gombau's men, three points would keep them in contention for the playoffs.
The RBB boycott meant it was a quieter ANZ Stadium, but that didn't throw Western Sydney off their game as they came away with a wonderful 3-0 win.
Proving to be a handful for Brisbane's defence who had a horror start Spainard, Oriol Riera, scored a brace in the first half.
Things for Brisbane continued disastrously as Chris Ikonomidis finished with a header to bring up the third before half-time.
Brisbane tried to claw back the deficit, and with Brett Holman coming on, some spark did appear but the game was pretty much over after an abysmal all-round performance.

Western Sydney Wanderers
Vedran Janjetovic (GK) - 6
Some poor distribution. Made some good saves but Brisbane were lacking the firepower.
Josh Risdon - 7.5
Squared ball for Alvaro Cejudo in the area. Great runs and service inside the danger area.
Brendan Hamill - 7
Closed in on Massimo Maccarone to deny an equalising opportunity. Got better as the game went on and was excellent on several occasions.
Jack Clisby - 6.5
Was too square and let Maccarone in. Got his body position wrong, and was lucky not to see Fahid Ben Khalfallah equalise. Improved in the second half.
Raul Llorente - 8
Great marshalling and link-up play with Cejudo and Riera. Superb cross to assist Ikonomidis.
