Dzagoev sustained a hamstring injury in the first half of Russia's 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup. Later, the team's midfielder Aleksandr Golovin said that according to the team doctors, it would take Dzagoev about ten days to recover.

According to the correspondent, Dzagoev went out for the training session with the rest of the team but later left the field accompanied by the doctors, while Zhirkov did running and warm-up exercises with the team and then went on to train individually.

On Friday, the national team's press service said that Zhirkov suffered a minor calf injury during the opening match and that he would be training according to an individual plan for two days.

The games of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities till July 15.

The hosts are playing in Group A and are set to take on their other two opponents, Egypt and Uruguay, on June 19 and June 25 respectively.
