10: Dylan Macallister (Gold Coast United)
Proving to be a shrewd signing by Miron Bleiberg, the journeyman striker found his groove this month with goals against Victory and Sydney. And the Aussie’s trademark presence up-front and strong hold up work has allowed the likes of James Brown to flourish. It’s tough when your side is struggling to win but the former Joey is showing form that prompted talk of him being a potential Socceroo call-up a few seasons ago.
2 / 10
9: Matty Jurman (Brisbane Roar)
His form of late has been fantastic, demonstrating again the importance of Ange Postecoglou’s approach to the game. Jurman’s move raised eyebrows after he left Sydney FC in the off-season but his work in playing out from the back and his partnership alongside Matt Smith has been exciting to see. Jurman just pipped Bas Van Den Brink and team-mate, the improving Issey Nakajima-Farran, for a spot in the top ten.

8: Jeremy Brockie (Newcastle Jets)
When he arrived at Sydney FC in 2007, the dreadlocked Kiwi was billed as the next big thing – four years later he’s finally delivered on that promise with some Berisha-like finishing that has helped keep the Jets in the mix for a finals spot and cemented his place in the starting XI. His two goals against Perth were class.

7: Thomas Broich (Brisbane Roar)
With Berisha grabbing much of the spotlight, Broich’s output hasn’t received the sort of exposure he had last season. But don’t be deceived by the media cycle; Broich has had another classic month in his role as creator for Roar. And his strike against Victory – a set piece smashed low as the wall jumped – was typically clever work from the gifted German.

6: Alex Wilkinson (Central Coast Mariners)
The Mariners great has slotted back into the side with ease after an arm injury kept him out of the side for the early part of the season. The central defensive pairing of “Captain Wilko” and Zwaanswijk continues to be the most effective in the league and likely to be one of the reasons why the Mariners end up in a grand final rematch with the history making Roar – if financial problems and ACL travel don’t derail their season.
6 / 10
5: Carlos Hernandez (Melbourne Victory)
The Costa Rican is still clearly hugely important to Victory’s chances this season. And with Thompson on fire, Hernandez has lifted his game and played his part chiming in with important goals (against Perth Glory and Gold Coast United), applying his trademark vision and adding a bit of good old fashioned run.

4: Tim Brown (Wellington Phoenix)
The qualified graphic designer etched himself into Phoenix history with one of the great A-League goals last weekend – an audacious long-range up and under that caught out Sydney FC’s Liam Reddy. It was his second goal last month after bagging a vital goal away in Brisbane in the 1-1 draw. Together with some typically direct displays from midfield he continues to be one of the great All-Whites - alongside Brockie – to grace the A-League.
8 / 10
3: Besart Berisha (Brisbane Roar)
It just gets better and better for the Albanian hit-man scoring goals for fun in a side that’s creating enough chances for any striker – fortunately for Roar, Berisha has enough instinct and quality to put them away. He’s a red-hot favourite for golden boot after bagging three more goals at the history making Queensland outfit.

2: Patrick Zwaanswijk (Central Coast Mariners)
The veteran continues to run around the A-League like a rookie with boundless reserves of Dutch energy to burn. And at 37 years young, his defensive nous in combination with Alex Wilkinson has been instrumental in setting up the Mariners’ Movember surge. Add to that his two goals - particularly his scorching free kick against Sydney FC which bust Liam Reddy’s net – and he proves age is merely a number in his case...

1: Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory)
November 2011 was Archie Thompson’s month as the Victory striker reignited his, and his side’s, season with blistering displays during a month of upheavals at the club. The 33-year-old talisman continues to show why he will be remembered as a true A-League great when he does, eventually, retire. Judging by the Kiwi-born fringe Socceroo’s goals against Roar in the unforgettable 2-2 draw, that day is a long way off. And the on-form striker looms as the one player who could steal the limelight from Beckham and Keane when LA Galaxy face Durakovic’s boys next Tuesday night at Etihad Stadium.
