The technology debate reared its head again this week following a controversial penalty award during Perth Glory's defeat at Adelaide United.

Mitchell, who coached alongside McKinna at Parramatta Power in the old NSL, sees no reason why the cameras cannot be used to ensure decisions are spot on.

As he prepares his troops for Saturday's trip to Sydney FC, McKinna says there should be nothing to fear.

He told au.fourfourtwo.com: "I think we're talking about what we'd call crucial decisions and incidents in a game.

"I think technology could be used when we're talking about an offside, a penalty and whether or not the ball crossed the line.

"Nine times out of 10 the referee gets it right anyway. We're not talking about the game stopping endlessly.

"The guidelines would have to be very clear though."

McKinna's main focus though is getting points in the bag this weekend as his team looks to build on last week's F3 victory over Newcastle Jets.

He said: "We're looking forward to going to Sydney. We felt hard done by losing to them earlier in the season and it'll be a good test for us there."

McKinna used three strikers in last week's win and said: "It was fantastic to see Dylan Macallister get his goal but all three boys up front worked hard.

"You want goals of course but maybe people didn't appreciate how much they got back to work defensively as well.

"Dylan was excellent in pre-season, then he had an injury and we had Sash and Matty up there.

"But with Dylan, I think his goal (against the Jets) showed he's not just a target man.

"He'll surprise a few people."
