THAT'S more like it! The A-League finally sparked into life this weekend with plenty of goals, referee controversies and an unexpected first.
After 188 regular season games and 47 rounds, all four home sides won their matches for the first time in A-League history.
In a weekend when records were tipped to tumble, this was the least expected one of all.
But it came at a price - the one thing that did take a dip this weekend was the reputation of our local refs after a series of shocking calls.
Adelaide United were almost denied their first win of the season after Bruce Djite's apparent winner was disallowed by a poor decision by Matthew Breeze.
And Peter Greene's red card blunder to Glory's Dino Djubic cost Perth dearly. Craig Zetter has had better games than his handling of the Sydney match and Roar fans felt Ben Williams should have awarded a penalty for the tackle on Reinaldo.
But it was a round where fans were treated to 11 goals and a couple of absolute cracker games that ended Mariners' unbeaten run, gave Phoenix their first Kiwi win, saw Sydney finally post back-to-back wins and Victory record their first win of the season at last.
The Mariners might not have been able to keep another cleansheet but they do stay top of the table, four points clear of the Jets, with Victory tucked up still in third on goal difference.
Phoenix surged up to fourth place just in front of Sydney on goal difference, with Adelaide one point behind in sixth, Roar trailing two points behind in seventh...and Glory still in the cellar with just three points.

Melbourne Victory finally got off the mark and notched up their first win as defending champions since claiming A-League Trophy back in February.
Queensland Roar continued to suffer their same old problems in front of goal, misfiring their way down the table and out of contention.

versus
The F3 derby was the battle of the Brazilians as Juninho and Mario Jardel lined up against each other. Juninho helped win the match for Sydney with his precision pass setting up Alex Brosque who finished beautifully.
But it was another J whose absence was most noticeable - Joel Griffiths knacked himself in the pre-match warm-up...and Newcastle Jets missed his creativity and speed badly in front of goal.

versus
Wellington Phoenix looked good for a win here even without an unjust red card to Perth Glory's Dino Djulbic.
But up against 10 men, it was just even easier for the Kiwis who were clinical in front of goal in a way few other teams in the A-League have so far shown.
Glory though have big problems though as they continue to limp their way through this season with little potential to improve.

versus
This was tipped to be the showpiece match of the round - and it lived up to all its promise. The best attack versus the best defence laid on a cracker of a match.
Adelaide United looked like they might be denied a worthy victory after Matthew Breeze got whistle happy and disallowed a great winner.
But Central Coast Mariners weren't to be let off that easily, and United lifted their game once more to end the visitor's unbeaten, cleansheet record and get their first win of the season.
