It's been a helluva week. Aloisi's arrival, Culina's departure, Kosmina's return...and that was all before a ball was kicked.

Throw in a dodgy red card against Melbourne, an ugly win for the Jets, an own goal by a Socceroo, a see-saw rollercoaster for Glory, a resurgent Sydney, a coach in the stands, an isolated Aloisi, a missed penalty, the fall from grace of the mighty Mariners, a devastating demolition of Phoenix by Adelaide - and a staggering 18 goals...It just doesn't get any better.

Alex Brosque has this season lived up to all that potential he showed in season one with Roar and that was squandered by Terry Butcher in season two.

He almost notched up a hat-trick but for a missed penalty, which would only have been Sydney's second ever hat-trick in the A-League since Sasho Petrovski hit the treble, ironically against the Mariners in round 11 of season one, almost two years ago to the day.

But his two goals were enough to make Brosque the clear leader in the goal-scoring charts for this season with six under his belt already and looking like he has plenty more to come.

Shane Smeltz is keeping in touch with him though on five after his early opener against United but Phoenix's leaky defence just keeps letting down all his hard work at the other end.

The celebrated John Aloisi never really came close to troubling the scorekeepers but it was his first game in months.

The Mariners' slip from the top of the pile for the first time this season will serve as a wake-up call to the side. They might have Aloisi but they still need to work just as hard to get their wins.

Incidentally, Kossie's touchline ban seemed to simply give suspended Mark Rudan a little bit of extra fitness training during the game.

He and masseur Joe Niutta spent a lot of the second half running up the steps from the sidelines to the box where the banished Kosmina sat. They were probably just getting the full-time drinks and pie orders in for the boys though, eh?

Strangely enough however, their return to the sidelines did seem to coincide with changes in tactics and substitutions. Coincidence, I'm sure...

The Adelaide-Perth game was just an awesome display of entertaining football. Earlier this season Glory made you want to pull your eyes out and then stand on them, but now they are providing thrilling games, albeit frustrating for players and fans.

How a side can go from keeping clean sheet after clean sheet without scoring themselves to scoring them by the hatful but then conceding in equal numbers could baffle science for years to come.

God knows what they have to do to take three points from a match but hopefully they will discover it soon. They've earned it now.

For a neutral, they've provided possibly the game of the season - and at least they got the last minute equaliser to deny Roar an undeserved win...and given the performances, a draw was probably fairest of all. It was, however, pure theatre.

There was yet another dodgy red in the Victory game with the Jets. Steve Pantelidis did deserve to go off for the elbow on Griffiths...but, really, the ref should have blown for the foul on Pantelidis long before he had a chance to retaliate.

Jets are happy to walk away with three points however they get them and for a side missing their talisman stars Carle and Rodriguez, they're doing exceptionally well.

If (and probably when) they lose Joel Griffiths though, all bets are off. It's not quite a one-man team...but it's damn close.

Finally the youngsters of Adelaide United are in danger of running away with the league.

They have a mind-boggling array of young attacking talent and if they can plug the injury gaps in their defence with some sharp signings, it'll be a brave man who bets against them taking the Premiership again.

The downside to such young talent though is that they get called up to the Olyroos - and the U23s have another round of matches coming up. Can Adelaide still maintain the momentum?

So at the end of round 10, Adelaide are top on goal difference, Jets and Mariners are tied in second on points and goal difference, Victory are three points behind, Roar tucked up a draw away from them, Sydney are five points off the leaders, poor old Phoenix are drifting away four points behind and Glory just have six points from ten games.

The Griffiths brothers did the damage to Melbourne Victory with an early and late goal by each to keep Victory off the top of the table.

It was an ugly but effective performance for the Jets but the signs are still there for Victory's side finally coming together with another impressive performance from Carlos Hernandez - allbeit without reward.

The new Macquarie definition of Perth: (v) To be in a team that gets a two goal lead yet invariably ends up with a draw at the last moment. "We Perthed it."

Craig Moore might have given away Glory's opener with an own goal but he redeemed himself with a goal-line clearance of what would have been a winner. He can also count himself lucky his late yellow wasn't another red...

This was the game of the season for my money - but Perth fans will probably disagree...with good reason.

The Mariners didn't look a shadow of the team that's been top all season - and Sydney didn't look a shadow of the team that's struggled so badly.

Michael Bridges made a huge impact on his debut, Corica lifted his game back to Asian Champions League levels and skipper Tony Popovic looked like a good signing at last.

But the Mariners still only lost by one goal and scored two absolute barnstormers from Hutchinson - and Aloisi isn't match sharp yet. They might not be top any more but don't write them off just yet.

Only Adelaide have scored more goals than Phoenix (ironically the ones they scored against Wellington in this match) but there's a huge gulf in the ladder between the two teams.

Shane Smeltz is second top scorer in the league, yet his club are second bottom. It's a tragedy for the club that all their goals haven't been rewarded with better results but they just give away games at the back.

Adelaide however boast class throughout their attack and you simply never know which of their stunningly talented youngsters will score next.

Adelaide are the future of the A-League and take their deserved spot at the top of the ladder. All power to them.
