Bottom pair Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets will also play to decide bottom place but the far more interesting game is at the other end of the table as the top two titans take each other on.

Roar leapfrogged Adelaide with a famous win at Wellington mid-week, a 4-1 thrashing that ended the unbeaten home run of Phoenix.

Brisbane are undefeated in eight games, but they face yet another opponent with an impeccable record at their home stadium.

Adelaide haven’t lost in eight visits to Suncorp Stadium and former Roar favourite Sergio van Dijk returns to his old stomping ground.

At the other end of the table, Sydney FC continue their search for their first home win of the season when they host the Jets.

The Sky Blues have a good record against Newcastle but will be without midfielder Nick Carle for the next month through injury.

Perth Glory aim to break an eight-game winless run when they host Wellington Phoenix, a team yet to win at nib Stadium.

Glory have a wonderful record against Phoenix at the venue, taking 13 out of a possible 15 points.

Wellington had their unbeaten run at home ended mid-week and coach Ricki Herbert will be desperate for his team to improve on in their away record.

Phoenix are the worst team on the road this season, collecting just one point in six road trips.

Elsewhere, two teams will be looking to avenge for thrashings received at the hands of their respective opponents last season.

Gold Coast United put their unbeaten record away from home this season on the line with a visit to Melbourne Victory and Etihad Stadium.

Victory dealt United a 4-0 pasting 12 months ago and have won three of four encounters against the Gold Coast.

But it’s a Gold Coast team that hasn’t lost in its last eight outings.

North Queensland Fury host Central Coast Mariners, a team they have never beaten and thrashed them at home last season.

The Mariners came out 5-1 winners on that day and have won two of the four meetings, with the other two being draws.

A late header from Patrick Zwaanswijk gave the Mariners a 3-2 victory in week nine.

On four occasions this season the Mariners have led at the main break and have gone on to collect three points each time.
