MELBOURNE Victory face another big rival a week after the city derby, welcoming the struggling Sydney FC for their first game of the season at Etihad Stadium.
Victory went down 2-1 to cross town rival Heart last week and will want an improved performance against the winless Sky Blues.
Sydney have a decent record at Etihad Stadium with three wins, three draws and three losses.
But the Sky Blues need to start hitting the target in front of goal to improve on the 31.3 per cent of shots that test the keeper, the worst in the A-League.
Newly appointed Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson will return to face his former club, North Queensland Fury, as his team looks to break a four-game losing run.
Fury have never lost to Perth and won both games at Dairy Farmers Stadium last season.
Undefeated Adelaide United visits Gold Coast United, looking to equal the longest undefeated run in the league’s history.
The Reds will move to 12 games unbeaten if they avoid a loss at Skilled Park against a team they have never beaten.
United won one of the clashes last season with the other two ending in draws and are also unbeaten in five outings.
Wellington Phoenix are aiming for a 24th consecutive undefeated hosting at Westpac Stadium when the Melbourne Heart visit.
Avoiding defeat would set an Australian national league record for Phoenix, who went down 2-1 against the Heart at AAMI Park earlier this season.
Second-placed Brisbane Roar needs to hold off a team with an amazing record at Suncorp Stadium in order to equal their own undefeated streak at home.
The Jets have won six of eight visits up north and are in desperate need of a win to stay in touch with the clubs above them but Roar have only conceded once at home in four games this season.
Not too bad at Etihad
Sydney FC have a decent record at Etihad Stadium – three wins, three draws and three losses.
Wayward Blues
Sydney FC have hit 31.3 per cent of shots on target – the worst in the league.
Paying the Penalty
North Queensland Fury have conceded the most penalties this season – three.
Holding On
Fury have never lost to Perth – two wins, two draws – and scored a late goal in the 3-3 draw to hold onto the record in week one.
Losses all-round
Perth have lost both previous trips to Dairy Farmers Stadium.
Reds Eye Record
Adelaide United will equal the longest undefeated streak in the A-League’s history if they avoid defeat at Skilled Park.
Kiwis to take Australian record
If Wellington avoid defeat at Westpac Stadium, it would break the Australian national league record for most consecutive games undefeated at a venue – 24.
Roaring at Suncorp
Brisbane could equal their longest undefeated streak at home – six. The last team to beat them at the venue was Newcastle in January.
Jet off to Brisbane
Newcastle have an amazing record at Suncorp Stadium – six wins, one draw and one loss.
Half Ton
Sky Blue Alex Brosque will be aiming to score his 50th national league goal against Victory.
