FORMER Melbourne Victory defender Simon Storey has been hailed for his 'excellent service' after departing Partick Thistle.
Storey spent two seasons with the Scottish First Division club after moving to Scotland following his exit from Melbourne at the end of A-League season two.
He clocked up more than 80 appearances for Thistle after earning a contract following a successful trial.
Manager Ian McCall told the club's official website: "We had offered Simon a new deal but, as is his right, he was looking for a little more money and wanted to consider his options.
"With it unclear as to whether Simon would sign a new deal we made the decision to take the offer off the table and allow Simon to pursue what other options are open to him. He leaves Firhill, however, with our very best wishes. He is an excellent professional and in his two seasons at the Club gave us excellent service."
It remains to be seen whether Storey will seek another European challenge or be tempted home for another crack at the A-League.
