The 22-year-old played in all four East Asian Cup qualifiers in Hong Kong last week, scoring a brace in the Socceroos 8-0 demolition of Chinese Taipei.

Melbourne Heart initially declined to comment on mounting speculation the player was leaving in the January transfer window.

However, agent Dragan Jevtic said his client, who is contracted until the end of the 2013/14 season, was not in discussions with other clubs.

“There are no negotiations, offers, contracts anything – he’s got another year at Heart,” Jevtic said.

Earlier in the year it was reported the former Melbourne Victory player had reached an in principle agreement with Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas. He has also attracted interest from clubs in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga.

Behich, touted as a long-term solution to the Socceroos left-back problems, made his debut for the Green and Gold in last month’s 2-1 friendly win over South Korea.

He joined Heart in 2010 as a short-term injury replacement for Kristian Sarkies but quickly established himself in the first eleven.

The Melbourne outfit currently sits seventh on the A-League ladder and prides itself on developing future football stars.

The off-season sale of young guns Curtis Good (Newcastle United), Eli Babalj (Red Star Belgrade) and Brendan Hamill (Seongnam Ilhwa) netted the club about $1.6 million.

But Heart chief executive Scott Munn has previously refuted suggestions the club is paying its way by selling some of Australia’s best and brightest.

“We don’t sit here looking at the players we’ve got thinking we’re going to sell them and we don’t go off trying to sell them,” Munn told au.fourfourtwo.com in September.

“Does it help us? Of course it does. To have unbudgeted revenue into a club, we’d be lying to say that it doesn’t help us and assist us in our goals.

“That doesn’t mean it is our goal. We want to give (these footballers) the best opportunity to play and if they have that environment and some club comes along we’re supportive.”

Talking to au.fourfourtwo.com this morning whilst in transit to Gosford for tonight's clash with the Mariners, Scott Munn confirmed that the club has received no enquiries at this stage with regards to Aziz Behich.
