NEWCASTLE Jets were bracing themselves for bad news today with Jobe Wheelhouse suffering a suspected broken leg in last night's clash with Bankstown.
Having scored the goal that put his team in front, Wheelhouse was then stretchered off in agony after a challenge midway through the second half.
A Jets spokesman told au.fourfourtwo.com this morning that the club was awaiting a medical update after the player was taken to Bankstown Hospital but Branko Culina will almost certainly be without the player's services for some time.
Having taken the lead in the match, the Jets conceded an equaliser and then saw the hosts grab a winner in the dying minutes.
Argentine trialist Federico Arias put in a full shift and went close to scoring on a couple of occasions.
