Al Wasl's 3-0 win moved them a point ahead of AFC Champions League qualifiers Al Wahda while the UAE's other representatives in the ACL this year, Al Ain, secured a valuable 1-0 victory against Al Nasr.

Al Wahda had an awful start to the match in the 17th minute when their French striker Mamadou Bagayoko received his marching orders.

After a first scoreless half, Al Wasl opened the scoring four minutes after their break when Brazilian striker Oliveira broke the deadlock.

Oliveira's compatriot Anderson made it 2-0 in the 74th minute just four minutes before Oliveira sealed the win by scoring a superb solo goal.

Elsewhere, Al Ain claimed their sixth league win this season thanks to a 1-0 victory against Al Nasr.

The only goal in the game came through Al Ain Iraqi midfielder Hawar Mulla Mohammed who netted in the 54th minute.

In Thursday's other match, two goals from Togolese striker Dodzi Dogbe ensured a 2-0 victory for Al Fujairah against Al Shaab.
