Aloisi insiders tell au.fourfourtwo.com that the 31-year-old Alaves forward will play his football in either England’s Championship or remain in Spain this season.

"There's been a lot of talk but he won't be coming back to play in the A-League this season," revealed a source close to the player.

"There's interest from England's Championship and elsewhere in Spain and I think that's where he'll be next season."

Speculation had been rife in the off-season that the striker – who scored against Japan in the Asian Cup quarter finals – would join Sydney, Adelaide or even Queensland.

The former Osasuna striker has previously played for Coventry City and Portsmouth in England.

Aloisi has also scoffed at suggestions he’ll retire from the national team, saying he wants to continue up to the 2010 World Cup.
