PERTH Glory star recruit and former Brazilian international Amaral will arrive this weekend after finally sorting out his visa allowing him to join the club.
Amaral will join team mates at training next week following approval of his working visa yesterday and coach Dave Mitchell is confident the midfielder can quickly slip into the team set-up.
“Amaral is the ultimate professional, he looks after himself very well and has been training with a few local clubs in Brazil since we saw him late last month,” Mitchell said.
“I’m sure he’ll arrive in good shape and have no problem getting up to speed with what we’re doing on the pitch.
“It’ll be a case of wait and see but I’ve kept my options open as far as round one is concerned. A round two debut is also tempting in front of our home crowd but that will all be determined by what is best for the team."
Amaral boasts a world class resume with experience in the top leagues of Brazil, Portugal and Italy, including Serie-A sides Parma and Fiorentina. Mitchell moved to secure his services following several outstanding performances while on trial during Glory’s tour of Indonesia in June.
“When he met up with us in Indonesia, he played two games straight off the bat and had no problem with fitness in the hot and humid conditions," said Mitchell.
"I think it’ll be more a matter of getting an understanding of how we play and then he’ll be ready for action.”
