YOUNG Socceroo Mustafa Amini is set to sign a four-year deal with Borussia Dortmund but will spend next season on loan with Central Coast Mariners, according to German newspaper Bild.
The 18-year-old Central Coast Mariners midfielder has been on Dortmund's radar since an impressive trial with the club in March.
Dortmund submitted an offer for Amini in April which was rejected by the A-League club, but BVB appear to have revived their interest in the Young Socceroo with an agreement imminent according to German reports.
Bild reported on Friday that Amini would agree a four-year deal with BVB, but would be loaned back to the Mariners for the 2011-12 A-League campaign.
"(Dortmund coach Jurgen) Klopp told me that it was better for me if I play another year in Australia, so I can prepare myself quietly for the U-20 World Cup in Colombia and the 2012 Olympics in London,” Amini was quoted as saying by Bild.
“In addition, I can also accumulate match practice in the next Asian Champions League.”
Amini added: "Coach Klopp took me aside and told me that I had convinced him at the trial session with my style of play.
“In general, he treated me as a full team member all the time. He's a really extremely nice guy - and an absolute professional.”
Amini will therefore link up with Dortmund, who have fellow Australian Mitch Langerak currently on their books, in 2012 but the youngster said he couldn't wait.
"My energy for this amazing club is already huge,” Amini said.
