AUSSIE youngster James Wesolowski is facing up to four months on the injury list after fracturing a bone in his ankle during a match for Cheltenham Town.
The midfielder is currently on loan from Leicester City and has been a big hit with the club during his brief spell there.
However, he was forced to limp out of Cheltenham's midweek defeat at Tranmere Rovers midway through the second half and scans have now confirmed worst fears.
Wesolowski joined Cheltenham on an initial one-month loan deal at the beginning of October.
Cheltenham boss Martin Allen had hoped to extend the deal to the maximum three month spell allowed for an emergency loan.
He was far from happy with the tackle that brought about the injury to the Australian.
He told the Western Daily Press: "He took a two-footed challenge across his knee which only got a yellow card from the referee which I can't understand for the life of me."
