Despite sitting six spots above Glory on the A-League table, the Mariners needed a late Patrick Zwaanswijk to claim a point on Sunday but Arnold said a draw in Perth was a decent result given the host's performance.

"Overall Glory were probably the better side tonight but we will take a point," Arnold said.

"You have to give full credit to the Glory tonight, they had the bye last week, Fergie (Perth coach Ian Ferguson) has obviously freshened them up and they came out with the intention of showing us that they are much better than what they were when we played them in Sydney."

He added: "They did very well in midfield tonight, they shut down Mustafa Amini and Rostyn Griffiths as well.

"Our midfield has done exceptionally well this year with (Michael) McGlinchey, (Oliver) Bozanic and Rostyn, and I thought they did a very good job on them, they shut us down and made it very difficult to play."

Arnold added he was pleased with the impact of substitute Daniel McBreen, a former Glory player, who provided the controversial assist for Zwaanswijk's 87th-minute equaliser.

"I tried to change things for us because it wasn't working for us," Arnold said.

"A couple of players were struggling with the heat. To put big Danny up front, he's a hero over here and has a great reputation and I wanted a reaction from him and in the end he did well for us after great action from Michael McGlinchey."

Central Coast's next match is away to Gold Coast United on Sunday.
