Kisnorbo had only just recovered from a serious injury sustained at the end of last season when he damaged ligaments in City's FA Cup win over Stevenage back in November.

Goalkeeper Paul Henderson has been keeping Kisnorbo company in the treatment room as he recovers from a groin injury.

City assistant boss Craig Shakespeare is looking ahead with cautious optimism regarding the duo.

On Kisnorbo he said: "We won't rush him back. He is still a few weeks away from training and four to six weeks away from playing. He is one we are monitoring at the moment."

The outlook is brighter for Henderson and if all goes to plan, he could be back challenging for first team football next month.

"We have to be careful with the injury, but hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later," said Shakespeare.
