Australia’s Confederations Cup campaign came to a disappointing but satisfying end following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Copa América champions Chile.
Arturo Vidal 7 - The box-to-box midfielder was in the thick of the action throughout and could have been on the scoresheet if it wasn’t for a great save from Ryan.
Jose Fuenzalida 5.5 - Also withdrawn at the break, for the livelier Martín Rodríguez, after struggling to make an impact on the right.
Alexis Sanchez 6.5 - Not his best game but still looked like Chile’s best route to goal, consistently dropping deep to try and influence the match.
Eduardo Vargas 6.5 - The pacey forward was always on the move but overall Australia dealt with him pretty well. Beat Behich in the air to setup Chile’s equaliser.

Subs
Pablo Hernández 5.5 - Came on for Aranguiz at the interval but was generally outfought and outnumbered in midfield.
Martín Rodríguez 7 - Gave his side a much-needed boost after coming on at half time. The 22-year-old stayed calm in front of goal to equalise from Vargas’ knockdown.
Marcelo Díaz – Replaced Vargas with eight minutes to go. Not enough time to give a fair rating.
