Australia rode their luck in the first half with a one-on-one save and two goal line clearances. A few astute substitutions turned Australia around, most notably the introduction of Mile Jedinak who calmed the players down and added some extra steel in midfield. 

Wonderkid Daniel Arzani turned the tide of the game, scoring his first international goal moments after coming on.

With minutes left Trent Sainsbury put the ball into his own net but Arzani's vision allowed Irvine to cross and let Hungary do the rest as another own goal handed the Socceroos the win.

Mathew Ryan - 6.5

Needed some quick reactions to stop a deflected volley from the Hungarians in the first half. Australia would have been one nil down was it not for a one-on-one stop against Adam Szalai. 

Aziz Behich - 6

Didn't have many opportunities to dribble and get comfortable facing forward on his left flank. Had some more space to move in the first half although his delivery was poor. 

Trent Sainsbury - 5

The victim of Australia's poor passing in the first half being made to run and expel energy chasing wayward balls. Not the best passing himself in the first half and looked lethargic. Was better in the second stanza before some devastating miscommunication saw him score an own goal. 

Mark Milligan - 4.5

A clumsy giveaway sent Hungary through on the Australian goal and Mat Ryan saved his blushes. Not the level of passing you'd expect from the 71-time Socceroo. 

Josh Risdon - 5.5

Caught out with balls in the air with the majority of Hungary's chances coming from Australia's right side. Having a torrid time with Sallai on the left hand side as Hungary created almost all of their chances from his poor defending.
