GOLD Coast United defender Bas Van Den Brink has had his four match ban slashed to effectively just one game for laying a hand on a referee
Van Den Brink had been banned for four weeks by the Match Review Panel for touching referee Chris Beath in the 33rd minute after fellow defender Kristian Rees was dismissed for a professional foul during the 1-1 draw with Adelaide United last weekend..
But at an appeal tonight, that lengthy ban was overturned and replaced with a two match ban, with one match of that suspended until the end of the season.
