DAVID Beckham paid tribute to Sir Bobby Robson today, as he prepared for Los Angeles Galaxy's friendly against one of his former teams Barcelona.
A minute's silence will be held before kick-off in the Rose Bowl in memory of Robson, who died yesterday aged 76.
Beckham said: "Sir Bobby was always there for me with advice and he was a true gentleman.
"He will be truly missed not just by all the Geordies but by every person that has been touched by him. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time."
