AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is ready to throw David Beckham straight into action when they take on Roma in the first game back after the winter break.
The England midfielder is at a training camp in Dubai with the rest of the Milan squad after joining the team on a short-term deal from the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Beckham, 33, has not played since the end of the Major League Soccer season in October, but Ancelotti has been impressed by the former Manchester United star and claims he could feature in the clash in the Italian capital on January 11.
"David is putting in a lot of effort like all the others," said Ancelotti. "We're working hard and even though he was out of action for two months before coming to us, he's withstood all our tests and his condition is good.
"He's lacking a bit of strength but that's normal considering his long break.
"He'll play in the friendly against Hamburg.
"He's ready for the game against Roma, so why shouldn't he play? It's true that he hasn't played for a while but he's working very hard and he's really making a great impression on me."
