GOLD Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg has accused the print media of taking advantage of him after walking out of his post-match conference following the win over Adelaide United.
Bleiberg gave a match summary but refused to answer questions from print journalists after accusing them of misquoting him.
"I'm very disappointed with the print media, the way they take advantage of me," Bleiberg said.
"Too many times I'm misquoted, too many times I'm misrepresented. I try to be kind, I try to help and promote the game and be open, help everybody and I'm being used and misquoted.
"I'm sick and tired of hearing all the stories about sub-editors (being at fault).
"When I came to Adelaide things became even worse, so I've had it up to here and for this reason I'll take one question from the electronic media."
Soon after Bleiberg then left the room, leaving Jason Culina to field questions from the media.
The composed Gold Coast player said he had no problem with his coach's protest or with some of the bold statements from owner Clive Palmer this season. He said the hype and controversy surrounding his club was not distracting to the team.
"Miron and Clive Palmer have been fantastic for the A-League and great for a new club and great for promoting Gold Coast United," he said.
"The players are very level-headed and whatever goes on around off the field, in the papers, in the TV, doesn't really bother us.
"We've got our minds and eyes firmly focused on the job.
