MIRON Bleiberg blasted referee Peter Green's decision to order the penalty re-take which handed Kevin Muscat the chance to clinch the win for Melbourne Victory against Gold Coast United.
Gold Coast played the bulk of the match with 10 men and looked on course for a point with the scores locked at 2-2 with five minutes to go.
However, Melbourne were awarded a penalty in the 85th minute as late drama unfolded.
Victory captain Kevin Muscat, who hasn't missed a penalty in the A-league, stepped up to the spot only to blast high over the bar.
However, in a controversial decision by referee Peter Green, Muscat was made to re-take the penalty following encroachment into the box
Bleiberg was furious after the match, blasting the bizarre referring decision that cost his side the match.
"The referee has to show a feeling for the game, in this case he showed a lack of feeling. That's for me how you ruin a football game," Bleiberg said.
"The way we played in the second half against Melbourne, with ten men, there is no doubt in my mind that had we had eleven players we would have won at home."
