GOLD Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg said Central Coast Mariners had "got what they came for" following the 0-0 draw at Skilled Park and lamented the fine line between heartache and glory.
Bleiberg's men couldn't find a way through the Mariners defence as the paltry crowd failed to see either net bulge.
"It was a good point for the Mariners and all credit to them because they are near the top of the ladder and they got what they came for," said Bleiberg after the match.
"For us it's a fine line between heartache and glory in games like this. Had we won 1-0 and taken all three points we would be dancing on the tables. Having only taken one point, we are still sitting."
Next up for United is a midweek clash against Newcastle Jets. The big question mark is how many people will be in attendance?
This goalless draw set a new record low for an A-League game on Australian soil.
