The midfielder is one of several high-profile captures by John Kosmina along with John Aloisi, Mark Bridge and Stuart Musialik.

Former Perth Glory colleague Mitchell Prentice has now joined the squad as well with his official unveiling expected next week.

Preparations for Hyundai A-League season are now underway at Moore Park with the players having resumed training.

Colosimo is enjoying life under John Kosmina although getting used to the Sydney rush hour in the morning is proving more of a challenge than his new football surroundings.

The 29-year-old told au.fourfourtwo.com: “I think I need a helicopter for the traffic.

"It’s great. We’ve got a really good bunch of boys and I’m enjoying it here.

“There seems to a feeling, a sense around the changing rooms, although it’s hard to really put that sense into words. There’s that feeling that we are going to do well and that we’re all there to win. We will work as hard as possible.”

Big names can sometimes bring with them big egos but Colosimo says John Kosmina is not the sort to accept big time Charlie-types in his dressing room.

Colosimo said: “With Kossie, you may have come into the club with a reputation but that counts for nothing under him.

"Everyone is equal. There’s no differences once you walk in that dressing room. If you do a job for him over the weekend then you’ll continue to do that job for him.”

Nor does Colosimo sense that players have come into Sydney FC because there is a nice fat pay cheque to take home every week. Their aim is firmly on the Grand Final game.

He said: “We want to be involved on that final day of the season and there’s the massive carrot of the Asian Champions League.

“No-one who has come into this club is simply content with just being here. Yes, they want to play for Sydney FC but they want success with Sydney FC.

“When you pack up you might have a nice house and a nice car but when the grandchildren come over in the future over you want to be able to show them medals and international shirts and caps.”

Colosimo also revealed John Aloisi is sharing his recent good fortune with his colleagues.

Aloisi can currently be seen on television promoting a brand of shampoo. There is plenty of good-natured stick flying around but also plenty of the product in question – or at least there was.

Colosimo said: “He brought quite a few bottles of shampoo in for use in the dressing room but they all seem to have disappeared. Whoever’s got them certainly won’t have dandruff.”
