EXCLUSIVE: Mark Bosnich's former boss has expressed surprise that A-League clubs have not moved to snap up the keeper while hailing his ongoing support for the Central Coast Mariners.
The former Socceroo custodian is enjoying life as a pundit on Fox Sports for the moment but has been linked with English third tier club Swindon Town.
His last serious action between the sticks was for Central Coast Mariners last season but it is not yet clear where his next footballing challenge will be.
Mariners boss Lawrie McKinna told au.fourfourtwo.com: "I am a bit surprised that none of the other clubs have made a move for him (Bosnich). I think he could be excellent value, whether that's in the team or helping to push the number one keeper at that club.
"We were very happy with him in the short-term situation we had him here. He actually came to see the boys at the airport as we were preparing to fly out for a Champions League game recently.
"He had a few words and just told the boys to believe in themselves."
While the A-League clubs may not have moved to sign Bosnich at this stage, McKinna jokes that any move to Swindon would be rather different to keeping goal at Bluetongue Stadium.
"I don't think there'd be too many palm trees behind the goal at Swindon would there? chucked the Mariners boss.
