Brazil have booked their place in the quarter-finals after a tense 2-0 victory over Mexico courtesy of second-half strikes from Neymar and Roberto Firmino. Mexico have been knocked out at the round of 16 stage for the seventh consecutive tournament.
Andreas Guardado - 6.5
Got forward and made incisions into the box early causing problems for Brazil, infiltrating the penalty area twice in five minutes.
Rafael Marquez - 6
Great passing as usual, playing the ball forward only when the opportunity arose. He controlled the tempo of the game also playing possession with his defenders. It is surely the 39-year-old's final game for Mexico.
Carlos Vela - 6.5
Strided forward well and shrugged off the challenges of Fagner who couldn't cope with his strength. A great run opened up the space for Herrera to shoot just inside the box but it was blocked.
Hirving Lozano - 6.5
Brilliant control of the ball throughout the match and was always in a position to attack, whether it be a cross or a shot.

Javier Hernandez - 5
Not near his best as he seemed slow to make his runs, although he moved the ball quickly and held it up. His decision making seemed sluggish.
Subs
Miguel Layun - 5.5
Brought on at half-time for Marquez. Helped Alvarez on the right deal with Neymar's dazzling feet. Poor communication with Alvarez while they jockeyed Neymar in the lead up to the opening goal.
Jonothan Dos Santos - 4
Brought on for Alvarez ten minutes into the second half.
Raul Jiminez - N/A
Brought on for Hernandez in the second half to look for an equaliser.
