EXCLUSIVE: Mark Bridge can already see the beginnings of a productive partnership with Alex Brosque and doesn't believe Juninho's absence will create a shortage of ammunition.
Much of the focus ahead of last season was on the marquee role at the Moore Park club with Juninho eventually arriving after Robbie Fowler's rejection.
This time, the marquee man (John Aloisi) was sewn up just a couple of weeks after the end of the campaign.
And rather than just looking at one signing, the media has been filled with stories about several new Sydney FC faces, including Bridge, Simon Colosimo and Stuart Musialik.
Bridge said: "I think the club has brought in a lot of quality this season and is looking for a good year."
Bridge has had just one outing for his new club, last week's defeat by Sutherland, but is looking forward to linking up with Brosque when he returns from the Olympics.
He told au.fourfourtwo.com: "I played up front with Brosquey in that game at Sutherland and I thought we put some decent combinations. I'm looking forward to playing with him this season."
Juninho was credited for creating many of Brosque's goals last year but Bridge is confident his fellow striker won't suffer with the little Brazilian no longer there.
He said: "Look, Alex is a great player. The guys in the team will create chances for him, people like Stuey Musialik, but he's pretty good at creating his own chances as well.
"I'm pretty confident about things to be honest."
Whether Bridge and Brosque start the campaign as a partnership is another matter though with John Aloisi creeping ever closer to a return to action.
Sydney's next hit out is on Wednesday night when they travel to face Manly.
