NEWCASTLE Jets striker Michael Bridges will miss the finals series after scans today revealed a tear in the Rectus femoris muscle of his right leg.
The former England youth international suffered the injury during yesterday's training session at Newcastle University, and is now expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The injury that Bridges has sustained will not require surgery at this stage, but still involves a six week recovery period.
Bridges will miss this Saturday evening's Hyundai A-League Semi-Final against Gold Coast United to be played at Skilled Park and any future games in Newcastle's finals' tilt.
