After just 15 months in the job, Kosmina is out and the sky blues are looking for yet another new boss.

While there has been plenty of speculation that Kosmina had lost the dressing room, Brosque insists any friction or frayed tempers on the training ground was simply frustration on the part of all concerned after a poor season.

Brosque told au.fourfourtwo.com: "It came as a massive surprise when I got the call (about Kosmina).

"As far as I was aware Kossie was already planning pre-season. But obviously a decision has been made and as players you just have to get on with things."

The coach is also likely to be first in the firing line if high expectations don't materialise into success on the park but Brosque doesn't feel it is right that the whole season's failure should be lumped on Kosmina's shoulders.

He said: "It's a collective thing and we have to take the blame collectively. It didn't go as well as we wanted it to and as players we fell well short.

"I don't think it's right or fair to point the finger in one direction. Everyone involved has to look at themselves.

"It is wrong to blame Kossie 100 per cent."

With the club now looking for yet another coach Brosque feels the club already has the perfect man to steady the ship, at least in the short term.

He said: "Poppa (Tony Popovic) has really stepped into that coaching role since retiring and has a huge amount of respect from the players.

"But there's obviously new owners coming in and we'll have to see what happens."
