REDS coach Aurelio Vidmar wants to hold onto star young gun Nathan Burns but won’t stand in his way if the Olyroo wants to further his career abroad.
Burns has been in good form for club and country the past twelve months and has been linked with moves overseas and interstate to rejoin former boss John Kosmina.
Vidmar has made no secret of his admiration for the player but as a former international himself he understands if Burns decides his future lay in Europe.
“We’d love to keep him, no question about that,” said Vidmar. “He’s got to make that decision.”
“I’ve had numerous chats with him during the year and at the end he’s got to make a decision. If he’s happy here and he wants to stay here that’s great, we’d love to have him.”
“If he feels that he wants to go overseas then no problems. Go overseas and try to further your career, not a problem.”
