EXCLUSIVE: Jacob Burns has a massive part to play in transforming the fortunes of Perth according to friend and former Glory skipper Simon Colosimo.
Colosimo is delighted to see the Socceroo pledging his future to the A-League, having agreed a three-year deal at Members Equity Stadium this week.
Glory's A-League story so far has been one of disappointment with the club having failed to make the finals in four attempts.
Colosimo told au.fourfourtwo.com: "Jacob is a huge pick up for Perth. He's a friend of mine and it's great for the game in Australia.
"He will give the guys there a lot of drive. He's a very, very good professional and he's worked with Mitch (coach Dave Mitchell) before when he was at Parramatta Power.
"Perth will really benefit from having Jacob there. As I said, a great pick up in my view. They are obviously putting a lot of thought into recruiting but then I think all the teams in the comp are recruiting well.
"It's going to be a tough year with everyone looking strong."
