FORMER Adelaide United striker Nathan Burns has scored on his home debut for Kerkyra as they defeated Ionikos 1-0 in the Greek second division.
Burns, on loan at the Beta Ethniki club from AEK Athens, popped up in the eighth minute to score what turned out to be the winner on Sunday in round two.
Local reports placed Burns as one of the best players in the side from popular Greek island Corfu.
Ionikos, relegated from first division last season, are currently bottom of the league after two games while Kerkyra sits atop the 18-team competition with a 100 per cent record following a first round 3-1 win away to Olympiakos Volos.
Burns, 21, was loaned out to find regular football after struggling to break into the first team squad at the Greek giant. He's played in both games for Corfu this season.
The Socceroo left Hindmarsh in 2008 but has only managed five appearances for AEK.
