EXCLUSIVE - Sheffield United Chairman Kevin McCabe is in Sydney this weekend and is on the lookout for A-League talent for his club.
McCabe told au.fourfourtwo.com exclusively this morning that he has high expectations about picking up some of our younger A-League talent for the Bramall Lane club.
“I expect we can do business in Australia with some of your younger players,” said McCabe.
When asked if this included Sydney FC players Mark Milligan and David Carney McCabe was coy, saying only “you never know.”
He added: “We have had some terrific Aussie players at Sheffield United, such as Shaun Murphy, Carl Veart and Doug Hodgson.
“They’ve been great for the club and we’re looking to develop some more local players in England.”
McCabe is here on property business, but is also looking around for players.
Sheffield United was relegated from the Premier League last season.
