EXCLUSIVE: Robbie Middleby is on a mission to make amends for his finals folly as Sydney FC take on Queensland Roar this weekend.
There is always plenty of spice when the two sides meet and last season's minor semi-final saw Roar edge out John Kosmina's men over two matches.
A goalless draw at Sydney Football Stadium was followed by a 2-0 win for Roar at Suncorp Stadium, a match which proved doubly painful for Middleby.
He told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "Losing up there (Suncorp)was very, very disappointing and getting sent off didn't exactly help matters."
Middleby was given his marching orders in the first half of the match for a foul on Matt McKay.
"So maybe this match on Saturday is a chance for me to make amends and that's what I'd like to do."
Middleby and his colleagues watched the video of last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Wellington Phoenix yesterday and the versatile performer says the players are eager to bounce back.
He said: "I think this is a great game (Roar) for us to have. We want to get back to winning and Roar had a very good win at Melbourne Victory last week.
"They are usually very close games. Queensland have a good mix with some good youngsters and older heads as well.
"They have a lot of pace in there and you really need to keep a close eye on Matt McKay and Massimo Murdocca.
"But I think we've been playing some great football and hopefully the fans will turn out.
"I'm sure the ones who saw the goals in our last (home) game against Adelaide will be back. Hopefully they'll each bring a mate with them this weekend."
