STRUGGLING Perth Glory have been delat a hammerblow with backline hardman Chris Coyne ruled out for at least three months with a torn achilles tendon.
Coyne will have surgery next week and may struggle to return before the end of the season..
“Obviously it’s a huge blow and an injury we didn’t need,” Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson said.
“With Scott Neville already out and Steve Pantelidis still a few weeks away from match fitness, it leaves us short at the back.
“Chris is a big character and leader, a player we will miss.”
Coyne picked up the injury late in the game against Melbourne Victory on November 20.
