ADELAIDE United boss Rini Coolen felt a draw was a fair result following the 0-0 stalemate with Newcastle Jets at Hindmarsh Stadium but wants his team to create more chances.
Coolen remained positive after the match, his first A-League outing in charge.
"I think it was a good open game. There weren't many scoring possibilities for both teams, I think we had a little bit more possession but we have to create more chances to score," Coolen said.
"The boys played well as a team. They worked really hard and I saw a few good things, but of course especially with a home game, you have to try to get more chances."
It was the first 0-0 result between the teams in their 17 A-League meetings and Coolen knows it is still early days as he continues to develop and implement his style.
"I think the draw was a fair result, but you have to win games, especially at home but it's a start, the defending was ok...and we didn't lose, that is positive, but we of course prefer to win the games," Coolen said.
"Of course we have to win more games, that's really important. We have to bring more speed into the game, and in the end you can play a lot of ball possession but you have to get more chances...and we have to work on that."
