Corica was born in Innisfail in the heart of Fury territory, but his North Queensland roots will count for nothing when the teams meet in Townsville on the opening day.

The Townsville crowd will include the Corica clan with the 36-year-old admitting he is already being hassled for tickets.

"Yeah, there's been more than a few requests," he told au.fourfourtwo.com at the club's season launch. "It'll be good to play against Robbie Fowler and there's a few Sydney old boys up there (including Robbie Middleby, Jacob Timpano and the now-departed Brendon Santalab).

"My family's from up there so I'm looking forward to it. It would be nice to get off to a winning start."

But Corica firmly ruled out any chance of him moving to Fury. He said he was loving life as a key part of the Vitezslav Lavicka regime - with the coach confirming he would retain the skipper's armband - and he's certain he made the right decision to play on for at least another year.

"My body feels pretty good," he said. "The coach has looked after the older players and I haven't played every one of the (13 pre-season) games.

"He has brought a winning mentality again. We'd maybe lost that a little bit. He's very professional and big on discipline. I think you'll see a different Sydney FC this year.

"Everyone seems to know what they're doing. Hopefully the season will be a good one. We just want to get back to winning ways."
