EXCLUSIVE: Ante Covic has the strength of character to bounce back from his Socceroos exclusion and regain his spot in the pecking order according to Gary van Egmond.
The Newcastle Jets custodian missed out on the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Qatar with Adelaide United's Eugene Galekovic earning a call up at Covic's expense.
However, van Egmond isn't expecting his goalkeeper to be adversely affected by the decision and is backing him to keep firmly on Pim Verbeek's goalkeeping radar.
The Jets coach told au.fourfourtwo.com: "I know Ante will have been disappointed to miss out.
"He's had both good times and bad times in his career. You have your ups and downs. The thing that sticks out for me is that he has always bounced back and come back on top.
"He knows that Pim Verbeek likes him and will be continuing to watch him."
