PERTH Glory defender Jamie Coyne is facing a race against time but hopes a deal can be done to allow him to join Sydney FC for the club's Asian Champions League campaign.
The Glory stalwart has revealed that his agent is in talks with the Moore Park outfit and is eager for a deal to be sorted ahead of the looming ACL deadline for players.
Coyne, who has found himself at the centre of a storm over the reasons for his sudden axing from the Glory line-up, told thewest.com.au yesterday: "A decision hasn't been made yet and a deal has to be signed by tomorrow afternoon if it's going to happen.
"Sydney is a big club. They haven't had a good year but they have great resources, they are set up really well and they are in the Asian Champions League."
Sydney have already snapped up David Williams for the ACL but were thwarted in their efforts to bring in Paul Reid from Adelaide United.
