Crowd incidents in Genoa and Verona have marred the opening day of the Serie A season on Saturday.
Reports in the Italian press have claimed two Sampdoria fans suffered injuries before their match against Juventus, while Verona and Milan fans were pictured throwing seats at each other at the conclusion of their contest.
Despite police attempting to ensure there was no contact between the supporters pre-match, two Sampdoria fans were injured as they walked away from a group of Juventus supporters.
One of the Sampdoria fans was reportedly taken to hospital with minor injuries.
In Verona, trouble erupted moments after the final whistle of the home side's clash against Milan when both sets of supporters faced each other and threw seats over the barrier separating the sections.
Police were forced to intervene to disperse the fans involved in the incident.
The Serie A continues on Sunday with seven games headlined by Inter and Genoa, while Fiorentina will take on Catania on Monday.
