JASON Culina is tantalisingly close to being confirmed as a Gold Coast United player as Miron Bleiberg celebrates the capture of Tahj Minniecon.
Gold Coast have been chasing Culina for several months and according to goldcoast.com.au an agreement is finally in place, albeit not signed, sealed and delivered.
The PSV Eindhoven midfielder will reject overtures to remain in Europe and head for home, according to a Dutch-based source.
If the news is confirmed then it will be a futher boost for coach Miron Bleiberg who has already secured the likes of Shane Smeltz and almost certainly Joel Porter.
Now Queensland Roar young gun Minniecon is the latest player to join Clive Palmer's outfit.
United coach Paul Okon told the same website: "He's the one Roar player I really fancied bringing to United.
"He has lots of pace and can cut through teams. He's not somebody you will have to nurse along because he already has some good A-League experience.
"He'll continue to improve and obviously isn't the finished article yet. He brings a lot of attributes with him."
