The club today agreed to his request for a release from the remainder of his contract which was due to expire at the end of the 2009/10 season. He is understood to have a deal waiting for him in Wellington with Pheonix.

Dadi told Glory he wanted more regular football after being unable to consistently break into a revamped Perth attack which was bolstered this season by the addition of Socceroos star Mile Sterjovski, Dutchman Victor Sikora and Serbian marksman Branko Jelic.

Perth Glory have also been well served by the recent contributions of Jamie Harnwell while young and up and coming players including Andrija Jukic, Ludovic Boi and Tommy Amphlett have given Perth plenty of options upfront.

The increased competition for places has meant the 36 year old former Ivory Coast international has managed just six games  and only three starts this season.

"Eugene is an experienced player and felt frustrated not to be regularly playing in our senior squad," said Perth Glory Deputy Chairman Lui Giuliani.

"Eugene wants to extend his career past this season and to do so he believes he needs to be getting as many minutes on the pitch as possible.

"He felt his best interests were going to be served elsewhere and consequently we agreed to his request to mutually terminate the remainder of his contract.

"We are grateful for the contribution Eugene has made to Perth Glory in his time at the club and wish him the best as he seeks new horizons."

Dadi played 22 games and scored 10 goals for Perth after joining the club in 2008/09 making him a fans favourite last year but was the forgotten man in this campaign, mystifying many supporters.

His exit now heraldsa lloming experienced personnel crisis for Perth, with marquee star Sterjovski and fellow Socceroos Jacob Burns and Chris Coyne among those keen to leave on loan this month to help secure a spot in the Australia World Cup squad.

But the club has hailed Dadi's departure as an opportunity for the club's youth players to press their claim for selection.

Glory also said they will now take "...a proactive approach in exploring options that arise during the January transfer window."
